You know, I feel a little bad that kids these days never got to experience how much fun a mall really was back then. To put it in perspective, imagine if the best, newest, most powerful gaming available anywhere was centralized in a place where you could get the newest music out there, be shown the newest technology available to the public, where you could see most any good new movie out there, and even get some decent food, maybe even bump into some pretty girls from school or meet someone you never met before. Local musicians would come in there to get instruments, you could get some pretty good clothes, and this could all happen in a day. Shops were a mix of locals and independents and you’d always see a friend or to you didn’t expect.
I guess it would be, in some ways like if you added amazon, best buy, every gaming and tech community, made the whole thing IRL and local, including real-life interaction with the opposite sex. It was FUN.
I am the last person to ever say the past was better (I just don’t think that way), but there is something people like interacting with others which is entirely lost when this became all online. Just saying. Maybe a new paradigm will come to be…
